Scars

There is a testimonial on Curezone.org titled: "your scars CAN heal!" by 'ozonebubble'. It states:

"I have many scars all over at varying depths and they are ALL healing just from doing cleansing and flushing. In fact they are healing before my eyes! [... including keloid scards ...]

"Looking at my scars makes me understand what my body was doing when it created them - it was healing as best it could with the resources and energy it had at the time. Cleansing and flushing has given my body the time, resources and energy to finish the job properly. [...]

"Even more amazing to me is that I do not put a single thing on my skin except for 100% natural soap and sometimes olive oil. Not even moisturizer and definitely no scar treatments! In fact the healing I am witnessing us working at least 10 times as fast as the most successful scar treatment I have used in the past... [...]

"So keep cleansing, keep flushing, be patient and you will see your body's own amazing capacity to heal right in front of your eyes! You don't need to spend your money on expensive treatments..."

Schizophrenia

Dr. Abram Hoffer's book: "Healing Schizophrenia" may be interesting.

There is a brief summary of his other book here: "Vitamin B-3 and Schizophrenia: Discovery, Recovery, Controversy". In the article Dr. Andrew W Saul states: "Vitamin B-3, niacin, is scientifically proven to be effective against psychosis".

Dr. Lawrence Wilson thinks that some schizophrenia cases have to do with copper toxicity and can be greatly helped by hair mineral analysis.

Dr. William Philpott discusses schizophrenia in his book: Brain Allergies and explains that chemical and/or food intolerance, mineral deficiencies, heavy metal toxicities, etc. can be causative factors.

Sciatica

For a very mild sciatica problem, which I have been suffering from, the Spinal Twist exercises seem to help a lot. These are described on Drlwilson.com and also on YouTube. I can't guarantee it's safe for everyone, though, so be careful. Dr. Lawrence Wilson thinks that these exercises, in general, can be even better than chiropractic work, in some ways.

Work with a doctor and a chiropractor to be safe. General guidance, however, seems to be: to sleep on a hard surface, not sit on soft sofas, etc., to keep in movement, not become stationary, and avoid any stretches that feel bad for the sciatica nerve.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Seasonal affective disorder manifests as tiredness and possibly depression, due to a serious lack of exposure to bright, natural daylight over a longer period of time.

A holiday in the sun will help alleviate these symptoms, and also any exposure to bright daylight will help.

A variety of full-spectrum daylight lamps are available to help as a less-strong option than natural daylight. There are also earplugs available from Valkee, which shine light into your ears, purporting to reach the parts of the brain that are light sensitive, and to alleviate SAD symptoms. The company has received some good testimonials on their products and it's worth looking into.

Also see the entries on fatigue, adrenal insufficiency and depression.

Sinus Infection

I have been suffering from a chronic sinus infection for a long time, and was hoping it could be addressed through diet. But only once I started doing a sinus rinse (similar to a neti pot) every day (I use a plastic syringe instead, without the needle of course) did I start getting good results. I suspect my sinus infection is caused by aspergillus mold, since the symptoms match and live blood analysis some years ago found signs of aspergillus in my blood.

Sinus infection can be caused by allergies, food intolerances, mucus-causing foods (e.g. dairy, acidic foods or nuts, depending on the person), infectious agents or general inflammation. It can also be a part of cold or flu symptoms or a complication of either.

In Chinese Medicine, especially 'cold body types' are prone to mucus and sinus infections, in which case it is important to keep the body warm, to eat warm foods, and to exercise to increase body heat, among other treatments and methods.

In my case, I took measures to eliminate the aspergillus mold infection, namely: blood electrification, drinking ozonated water, rinsing my sinuses with ozonated water (I don't know if this is safe), Chinese herbs and acupuncture, and exercise. After a while the sinus rinse didn't hurt anymore, although in the beginning it always hurt and gave me very restless feet. It is strange that there seemed to be a clear connection between the sinus infection and restless feet! Soon the rinsing became easy, however, and I had no more problems with feet (until much later).

As a result of these aspergillus-eliminating measures I started clearly having more energy. I started waking up earlier in the morning and also having more energy during the day. After about two weeks of faithfully doing the above methods every day (except exercise only occasionally), I developed a strong cough, which really felt like my lungs cleansing since there were no other cold symptoms (no fatigue or temperature, etc.), apart from a sore throat and hoarse voice, which were caused by the infectious agents affecting the throat while being eliminated. I stopped the herbs and blood electrification at this point and continued taking ozonated water. Now the infection is much less and I feel much better, but both my lungs and sinuses are not 100% clean of mucus yet, so I suspect some infection remains. I am continuing with blood electrification now, and soon herbs too, as well as exercising every day to move mucus and warm my body.

See important updates regarding aspergillus at: Natural health remedy entry for aspergillus.

Avoiding inflammation-causing foods may be important to help overcome sinus infections. More information at: inflammation.

Dairy, because I seem to be intolerant of it, in my case quickly causes sinus congestion (sinusitis), as well as sinus headaches. The sinuses, nose and ears are linked to the eyes, and the sinusitis is often accompanied by unclear eyes (redness, yellowness and dullness), pressure behind the eyes, eye ache and worsened eyesight. Other people I have spoken to have reported the same. Some limited relief to the painful eyes can be found from wearing sunglasses or prescription glasses, or a hot water compress. I have found that in my case the sinus headaches quickly disappear when breathing in plenty of water vapour with 1 drop of oregano essential oil added.

Important: Note that if your sinus infection is caused by an inflammatory agent, such as aspergillus mold (which can be a systemic or 'stealth' infection and not detectable in lung x-rays), you may then have an additional problem, which is the toxins that the pathogenic organism excretes into your body. These toxins can cause allergies, intolerances, anxiety, fatigue and affect the functioning of the body in many negative ways. They may also stress the liver. So additional help for the body to detoxify is beneficial, e.g. drinking plenty of water, rest, C-vitamin, antioxidants, etc. Ensure that the pathogen elimination and the related detoxification proceed gradually and at a comfortable pace so as not to overburden the body and suffer difficult symptoms.

Xylitol Nasal Rinse:

Xylitol nasal rinse was found by peer-reviewed research to be more effective in reducing nasal symptoms than saline water nasal rinse (netipot). I've purchased Xlear brand Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol and it seems to be helping my blocked sinuses quite quickly (although I've only used it for two days so far). The product has 'grapefruit seed extract' within the ingredients, also, however, which is a powerful antimicrobial and antifungal. Therefore I'm not sure how much the benefits are due to xylitol and how much due to grapefruit seed extract killing e.g. systemic candida infection in the nose. The product states that the 'grapefruit seed extract' is used as a preservative, but of course it may have other benefits also, possibly supporting xylitol's healing benefits. The only other ingredients in the Xlear nasal spray I use are purified water and saline, but they do have other products as well, for more persistent sinus problems, which include e.g. oregano oil and capsaicin (which their sales rep at the GetWell 2020 show claimed is a natural anti-histamine).

Another product I've previously found helpful was the probiotic nasal rinse. It comes in powder form (small sachets) and you mix it in boiled and cooled water. I used 'Probiorinse' by Probionase Therapies (which had 'lactococcus lactis' bacteria in it). I stopped doing it after the first pack, however, because of the expense and the long delivery time (from USA to the UK).

Skin Conditions

"Vitamins Cure Skin Conditions" (external link)

Dr. Vincent Bellonzi recommends the following for healthy skin: eat a clean diet, ensure enough antioxidants in your diet to keep free radicals at bay, avoid sugar (damages collagen), drink water (stay hydrated), exercise. He also says that silica is important, and so is knowing about any medication that may cause skin problems.

Sunshine and UV light from sunbed can improve the look and feel of the skin. Read: Healthy Tanning: UV Rays are Good for You!

Note that food intolerances can cause skin problems as well, and so can allergies.

Skin is one of the major elimination organs of the body, so, for example, if your body is toxic, it may manifest as skin conditions. When people go on a raw food diet, sometimes skin gets worse first. But raw foodists are known for their immaculate skin and the 'raw glow'. However, once you start detoxifying through raw foods the body usually gets to work in correcting internal imbalances and weaknesses, and the skin improves later.

Infections, fungi (e.g. candida), liver weakness, gut flora imbalance (intestinal permeability, intestinal dysbiosis) and inflammation may be causative factors in various skin problems.

Sleep Apnea

For this condition it is important to try to get a diagnosis from a specialist doctor because it can be a dangerous condition. However, not sleeping on your back has been shown to help. You can ensure that you don't by attaching a tennis ball to the back of the top you are sleeping in. This should hopefully keep you breathing normally through the night and has been shown to help many people.

Snoring

Dehydration is the principle cause of snoring, claims this article: "How Staying Hydrated Reduces Snoring" by Mark Walton at SnoringHQ. He writes:

"Mucus membranes are easily dried when they are not provided with enough water. If you are not drinking enough water, your body is going to take what it gets and disperse it to the most crucial organs that need it the most. Drinking the recommended amount of water ensures that your body has enough to share with “less important” elements, like your mucus membranes.

"So, what’s the big deal about these membranes? Secretions in your soft palate, nose, and throat become sticky when you are dehydrated. If you have soft tissues already touching and vibrating to create a snoring sound just imagine how amplified this is going to be when air has to push through tissues that want to stick together."

Note that dehydration is not only caused by lack of water, but lack of minerals and the quality of water play an important part. Find out more here: Natural Health Remedies to Dehydration.

Also, see Mike Walton's website linked to above (SnoringHQ) for more snoring remedies also.

Stomach Ache

Among many other things, this is a classic food intolerance symptom.

Make sure you rule out food poisoning and other more serious problems with the help of a doctor.

Green tea may help with stomach pain but it cannot be drunk on an empty stomach.

With longer-term stomach ache problems, consider heart burn and parasites, as well. The digestive system will need strengthening - eat easy to digest foods, take probiotics, and consider green juice fasting.

Stress

Important, sometimes when you feel stressed out, the cause of the feelings may be different from what you expect. I found out, for example, that due to food intolerances, eating certain foods would make me feel irritable, stressed out, anxious, moody, down, fearful, or just generally negative. It was quite an eye-opener when just by eliminating certain foods from my diet I began to feel more relaxed. I realized that I had been blaming some external life circumstances or people for my stress even when foods were the real culprit! Important information on this here: Food intolerance.

I also found out that quitting caffeine made me feel a lot less stressed out - read: Benefits of Quitting Caffeine.

Sugar Addiction

Natural remedies for sugar addiction
Nature of Sugar Addiction

Dr. Brian Clement states in a video "How to Eliminate Sugar Addiction" that protein is key to curbing sugar addiction. If you don't drink sprout juices, he says, you should take chlorella capsules. Carry a bag of them with you, and whenever you get a sugar craving, take 5-6 capsules and in 15-30 mins the blood sugar is regulated and it takes the edge off your sugar cravings. He also recommends 'stevia', which is a rare form of complex carbohydrates and it has exactly the taste of sugar when it has been processed but has no negative sugar effects.

Swine Flu

I had swine flu back in 2009, while I was doing the McCombs candida diet. I managed to get through it without taking antibiotics with the help of Dr. Bob Beck's blood electrification device and colloidal silver. The fever went away within a couple of days while the cough lasted longer, but eventually disappeared.

Swine flu is a relatively new strain of the influenza virus, so see the entry here on influenza virus as well.

See natural health remedies here also on: viral infections, infections, cough, a cold.

Swelling

Swelling, also called edema or oedema, is a condition where too much fluid is retained in the body's tissues and cavities. It can be caused by injury or inflammation. To rule out chronic conditions requiring medical care (e.g. dangerous infections, heart disease, burns, liver disease, other illnesses, kidney disease, etc.) please consult your doctor, first of all. Mild edema is common during pregnancy.

For a discussion on less severe causes of swelling and puffiness, as well as natural remedies, please see: water retention.
